Presented in collaboration with Cambridge Creativity Commons as part of Cambridge Science Festival.

Join Descience Strategic Creative Lead Julianne Gauron in an enlightening conversation about the creation of this cutting edge approach and process to fostering collaborations; imagining cross-disciplinary concepts; and fusing the languages of fashion design and science. We will hear the experience of Descience 2014 winners, team Cytocouture. Dr. Laura Indolfi and DesignerCarlos Villamil.

Stay for a hands-on workshop run by Cambridge Creativity Commons, led by experts, to explore the rich overlap of creative processes between the arts and sciences. Observe and experience how teaching them together can promote excitement and engagement in learning! We welcome educators, students, artists, scientists and those interested in this fertile arena to what promises to be a great afternoon.

Julianne Gauron earned a Master’s degree in Industrial Design at the Rhode Island School of Design in 2008, where she later taught the course, ‘New Products for Performance Sports,’ and served on the Five Year Academic Advisory Committee.  Julianne has had various roles at the MIT Media Lab including TA and New Balance corporate liaison.  She received a BA in Art History and Architecture from Bowdoin College in 2003.
